A Personality TEST to navigate love, your job and getting stuff done :)
Ever felt like you're trying to decode the human puzzle?
Well, buckle up because we're diving into the wild world of personalities and how they can spice up your life, shape your career, and even impact your work habits. Let's break it down without the jargon!
Figuring Out You: The ABCs of Personality
Imagine your personality as a mixtape of traits. Here's the lowdown:
1. Are you a social butterfly or a lone wolf? (E or I)
2. Do you prefer facts and details or daydream about possibilities? (S or N)
3. Are you ruled by logic or led by your heart and gut? (T or F)
4. Do you like plans or roll with the punches? (J or P)
Now lets get down to the nitty gritty of your personality and what it all means for you.
The night before a teacher’s first day of the year is nothing short of restless, a sleepless night, dreaming of the class lists, tote tray labels, PowerPoints and lesson plans.
I often worry about how I might be able to cater to them all; each with their own learning styles and personality types. In that first few weeks of the year, I almost feel like a detective uncovering the secrets of each child. Some are like energiser bunnies, some are deep thinkers, and some just want to feel all the feelings.
The best part? Once I understand how they tick, I can quickly tailor my teaching. No more one-size-fits-all nonsense that we often hear about from the past! If someone wants to share their wild ideas, we find a way to make it happen, if someone needs to release some energy, we let them move their body.
I remember a moment in my classroom years back, when I first introduced my students to the 16 Personalities Test. To say they were intrigued was an understatement!

As they continued answering the questions and engaged in lots of class discussion, we discovered the unique variety of personalities within our classroom. And so began this ripple effect; the once quiet students began to find their voices, the energetic ones harnessed their enthusiasm into somewhat productive endeavors, and the analytical minds flourished in an environment tailored to their needs.
And guess what? It's not just about grades. These kids start understanding themselves better. It was almost like they were getting superpowers of self-awareness.
So, in the midst of learning about themselves and their new classmates, my classroom turned into a place where everyone's quirks and strengths made the learning party even more fun. All thanks to a little personality test magic! And they say teaching is just about textbooks and rulers. Ha!
Read on, if you would like to know more about the dichotomies of personality types. Which ones are you?
Extrovert and Introvert DICHOTOMY :
At the core, extroversion and introversion represent the ways people derive energy and engage with the world around them. Extroverts, often dubbed the life of the party, draw energy from social interactions, external stimuli, and the bustling world outside. On the flip side, introverts find their energy within, gaining strength from quiet reflection, introspection, and a more subdued external environment.

Sensing and Intuition DICHOTOMY:
Sensing personality types are concrete and Detail-Oriented: Individuals who lean towards sensing are often grounded in the tangible, real-world aspects of their experiences. They focus on the here and now, paying close attention to facts, details, and the sensory information available in their immediate environment. People who are sensors particularly rely on proven methods and observable data when making decisions. They are generally realistic, relying on what is known and evident rather than entertaining abstract possibilities.
However Intuitive personality types are abstract and Future-Oriented. These type of people are more inclined to see the possibilities that lie beyond the current reality. They are future focused, often exploring potnetial scenarios and connections between ideas. Intuitive individuals tend to be imaginative and open to new concepts. They enjoy exploring unconventional ideas and are comfortable with ambiguity, trusting their instincts and looking beyond the surface to uncover deeper meanings.
Thinking and Feeling DICHOTOMY:
Thinking types prioritize logic, objectivity, and rational analysis in their decision-making process. They tend to rely on facts, data, and cause-and-effect reasoning, aiming for consistency and fairness.
Feeling types, on the other hand, prioritize empathy, personal values, and the emotional impact of choices. They make decisions based on harmony, considering the needs and feelings of others, and often seek a decision that aligns with their deeply held values.

Judging and Perceiving DICHOTOMY:
Judging personalities (despite the name), don’t go around making opinions of others. These types actually thrive on structure, organization, and a planned approach to life. They find comfort in schedules, set deadlines, and clear-cut goals. Judging personalities are decisive and tend to appreciate closure, making decisions efficiently.
Perceiving individuals, in contrast, are the free spirits who revel in the spontaneity of life. They are adaptable, flexible, and prefer to keep their options open. Perceivers often resist strict routines and deadlines, enjoying the freedom to explore possibilities as they arise. While their open-mindedness can lead to a more relaxed approach to life, it might also mean they occasionally grapple with making decisions, preferring to keep their options open for as long as possible.
